I have been to Grand Canyon twice in a year and the first time I stayed at a hotel right outside of the park entrance that was highly rated. I didn’t care for the hotel nearly as much as the Yavapai Lodge. This property is absolutely gorgeous and worth every penny to stay inside the park.
I loved how dark it was at night. There were Elk everywhere.
The restaurant was my only gripe for breakfast. We didn’t know it was for a group until we had been standing in line for breakfast for awhile to be asked for a ticket. Which we did not have because it was for a group. No breakfast was offered in the hotel.

There is a gift shop, grocery store, restaurants and coffee place. It’s everything you need.
I highly recommend going on a Night Sky adventure to see all the stars.
Rooms were large and comfy. We had a great time. I would stay here again over any of the other hotels. I liked that I was away from busyness

They should really consider changing the name from "Lodge" to something else. It felt more like a Motel 6 than a lodge. Regardless, we weren't planning on spending time in the room so it was adequate. We stood in line way too long to check in at about 10 am. The hours of the coffee shop were way to short and they don't open early enough. The coffee machine in the room didn't work. I notified a staff member and she said "OK" but did nothing about it. My wife bought a shirt in the gift shop. It turned out to be too small so she went back in just about an hour later to exchange it for the next size up and the lady working the gift shop really gave us attitude about it. Lastly, I was under the impression that I was given the best rate available, yet when I got on their website the day we checked in I found out I could have gotten the room for $100 less. This was an exploratory trip to plan for a longer family vacation. We will definitely not be staying at the Yavapai. On a positive note, the bed was clean and comfortable.

Great location close to the rim with awesome lookout points near by. The dining hall had great food for breakfast and dinner. Rooms didn't have wifi but the dining hall did. Rooms were clean and spacious with windows that opened. Floors were noisy though so in the downstairs rooms you could hear every footstep from people in the room above.

Everything was great, except upon checkout today. The elderly woman at the counter belittled me for forgetting my room number. For working in a service industry, she was great at speaking in a very condescending tone as well.

Beyond that the room was cozy. Food was great (tacos). And the location was great.

As another reviewer wrote, the rooms are adequate. We stayed here because of the pet friendly policy that allowed us to have our two small dogs along with us.
West Yavapai has narrow old motel rooms with updated furniture and an old fashioned (wall hung sink, low toilet and tub side by side) bathroom.

Definitely the best value on Grand Canyon's South Rim. Scenic location, despite not being right on the canyon rim like some of the other Grand Canyon Village hotels. Excellent food and beverage options on-site, as well as the Village Market & Deli right across the parking lot. Rooms may be basic, but they are clean and cozy, and always comfortable after a strenuous hike in the canyon. Sitting outside on the patio at Yavapai Tavern is always a treat. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Yavapai Lodge is highly recommended.

Location is awesome, right in the Grand Canyon village. Staff was nice and very attentive. The room seemed clean. Basic, but with a coffee machine and mini fridge which was great.

The rooms don't have wifi which was fairly inconvenient. Unfortunately our TV in the room didn't work- never seemed to have service. Our toilet clogged twice, not due to any obvious reason. Thankfully the staff came ASAP and fixed it both times.

For food, there's a restaurant-style option in the main building, as well as a cafeteria-style option. The ordering in the cafeteria option was extremely confusing for guests, us included. Food is subpar but did the job.

My husband and I enjoyed every minute at the Grand Canyon! Yavapai Lodge was absolutely outstanding! Great accommodations, friendly staff members, very good restaurants, and a very well appointed general store. We never felt the need to leave the park for anything! We were sad to see our stay come to an end. We highly recommend the amazing Grand Canyon National Park and Yavapai Lodge!
