Don't Waste your money!
I paid a premium for "lifetime service" (no monthly fees) when I purchased a TIVO Roamio 4 years ago. Within the first year, the equipment failed and was replaced with a reconditioned product. Shortly after, we switched to YouTubeTV and unplugged the TIVO unit two weeks ago. Now the equipment has a horrible humming sound that doesn't go away even when put in Sleep mode.My customer service experience was a nightmare! I could not understand the non-native English speaking rep for the thick accent; however, did get that for an additional $169 they would send another unit (the 3rd one!) When I balked, the price was reduced to $99 - and when I refused to pay that, I was referred to their 3rd party tech support website to have my unit repaired. After going to that website, I learned that party would diagnose my problem for $49.99 and then charge for any parts! I refuse to pay any more either to TIVO or their 3rd party vendor... and suggest you look for another alternative because TIVO is a ripoff!
