Very “old money vibes”, nice architecture. They were able to accommodate a large group. Skillet was good.

Had a wonderful breakfast on the Veranda of the Blue Pig Tavern with our dog. I had the Blue Pig Tavern Skillet with regular coffee and my wife had the Sunrise Sandwich with a Latte. They also made some scrambled eggs for my dog which he loved so much. Dog Friendly Establishment.
Carlo was our waiter, and he was awesome. The food, coffee and service were excellent.

this place is sooo cute and service is so friendly! my boyfriend and i had reservations at 1:45 so we were seated promptly and our waiter, despite only having worked for a couple weeks, was so efficient, attentive and kind! we got the tavern mac + cheese as an app- SO good- and then my boyfriend got the lobster roll, the roll could’ve used more butter and had almost a sweet taste to it, but he rated it a 4.5/5. i got the fried haddock sandwhich and it was amazingggg! the fish was not fishy tasting at all, cooked to perfection and buttery soft. only compliant are the fries bc they were soggy and tasted like leftover microwaved fries. despite that complaint, overall sweet experience and would go back 📍🐽

It being our first time in Cape May, it was recommended by a family member to try The Blue Pig Tavern. We stopped by for breakfast, and had an amazing meal. We had the Avocado Toast, Buttermilk Pancakes, a side of Hash Browns, Eggs Blackstone, and Healthy Start. Everything was freshly made.

The restaurant is located in a historic house that was well-preserved, spacious, well-lit, and clean. The staff was also friendly and accommodating.

My 10 year old granddaughter recommended Blue Pig, so we had to try it. Found inside Historic Congress Hall, parking was not so easy, but, we got Lucky & with app had 2 1/2 hours for dinner. We dined al fresco in the patio, on a warm, muggy night, with Old Friends. Beer was good, Service was fine, food not so much. Caesar salad, the salted top bread Loaf were good. As was the abundant overly seasoned Spicy Calamari we shared, but nothing like traditional calamari, which I prefer. We ladies both ordered the Shrimp Scampi. It was not good. It lacked Garlic, and was a huge plate of pasta, that was so lemony, I sent mine back, something I never do. Husband's Hamburger was OK, but not great. We skipped dessert & had ice cream later in the night. Pricey, but, place is worth a walk around...for the ambience. 😏

Breakfast and Lunch for sure, but dinner Dinner service really bad tonight, specifically our waiter. Have come here for years. Love this place, but maybe not for dinner again if this waiter is working. Slow service from when not at all busy = 20 min for water and initial greeting from wait staff, 40 min for drinks (not kidding), 50 min for app (calamari) and bread (asked for this 4times, finally got a busboy to handle it for us), after an hour we got our own drinks at the bar, the dinner came shortly after that. If you are resourceful and don't mind helping yourself a lot, you'll have a great night... Food was good as it has been in the past.

What a delicious dinner on the first night of our anniversary getaway. We picked this restaurant solely for the banana pudding (saw a pic while searching and it looked so good). Then we looked up reviews before going and got a little nervous, but I'm happy we didn't let them deter us!
We got two drinks: white sangria and a virgin mojito.
The fresh bread reminded me of homemade bread my mom and grandma would make - or warm, soft and had a nice seasoned butted crust.
The calamari appetizer was a genrous portion for two and cooked well - very light and crispy, not chewy, and I loved the friend banana peppers sprinkled in.
For mains, we got the...
Steak Frites - cooked to perfection and the arugula salad with pickled onions was so good, I would've ordered it as an appetizer salad if it was an option!
Blackened Mahi Mahi special - cooked wonderfully, blackened seasoning wasn't overpowering so you could taste the fish, and the fresh mango salsa, cilantro rice and cream sauce made for the perfect bite.
For dessert we got the...
Banana Pudding - lived up to our hopes, was a nice balance of cream and bananas, and the bruleed bananas on top made the dish!
Lavender Creme Brulee - I am a sucker for anything lavender flavored and this was delectable - a nice balance of tradition Creme brulee with a light lavender essence in every bite. I think mine was missing the Candied violet garnish, but it was yummy nonetheless.
The inside is a bit loud, so not the super intimate setting for two. However don't let that stop you from going. If the weather was nicer, I would've loved to dine on the outdoor patio.
Give this place a try! Based on our experience, the reviews were a pale comparison to the delicious food and overall experience we had.
