I found out about SARRCs Community School through a volunteer opportunity at work. After touring the school, we never even bothered visiting a second center. SARRCs Community School has been everything and more we could have hoped for our daughter. Since starting there, she has truly thrived socially and academically in ways we could never have imagined (or provided for her on our own). We love that the program has a 4-to-1 student-teacher ratio and that our daughter has a detailed and individualized learning plan with quarterly report cards showing her progress. We also love that our daughter is learning to be inclusive at a very young age with her peers that are on the autism spectrum. The SARRC Community School has become family over the last two years since our daughter started attending. We are eagerly counting down the days until our youngest daughter turns 15 months and will be able to join her older sister at the Community School because we have truly seen the positive impact it makes!

I’ve waited a long time for this review. Amanda Sumney and everyone there failed my son. After 3 months attending this school. Amanda pulled me into a meeting and told me my 4 year old (at the time) would not thrive in a classroom setting. That he has hard time following directions, prefers to be alone, and that he would require a 1:1 ratio ABA therapy instead. I thought this was a AUTISM RESEARCH AND RESOURCE CENTER? They required us to withdraw him.
I’m no rocket scientist but it really doesn’t take critical thinking skills to put 2 and 2 together. If you take a kid WITH AUTISM and throw him in a classroom setting for 8 hours and expect him to follow directions and be in that classroom setting from the get go, than you shouldn’t be around children period.

Well now my son is in kindergarten in a PUBLIC school and in a “regular” class. I was really worried and not sure what to expect. Although we did struggle at first for only a month. His teachers did and have not given up on him. Mind you they have 27 kids in that classroom which is significantly smaller than what he had at SARRC. My son has lots of friends now, plays with them, enjoys school, and lucky enough the other kids love him!

Amanda I’m going to need you to pay attention here; today my son got STUDENT OF THE MONTH!!!! My son is smart, kind, respectful, the happiest little boy ever and you couldn’t see that. You limited him and put him in this small box and gave up.
This place has no patience, delusional, and no motivation for your children.

Lastly, I gotta give it to them. THANK YOU SO MUCH for being such a terrible experience and withdrawing him. Cause without your ignorance we wouldn’t be where we’re at now.

Sorry for the long review but let our experience show the both sides to this place. Anyways bye SARRC! We’ll be here with our student of the month 🥰🥰

Brittani Harris has been instrumental in our journey through SARRC’s JumpStart and Second Gear programs. Her unique insights and passion for her job have fundamentally changed how I parent and handle challenging behaviors with my son. Brittani’s ability to assess my son’s unique needs and my learning style, and then tailor her parent training accordingly, has been life-changing for us. Over the past few weeks, I have witnessed a remarkable transformation in my children, who have moved from continual resistance to compliance, volunteering to do chores, improving their grades, and feeling better overall.

When I first met Brittani, I cried in her office because I felt my parenting was negatively affecting my son’s self-confidence and self-image. Brittani helped me understand my son’s motivators and how to make small changes in my approach to antecedents and negative behaviors. This has completely transformed my relationship with my son, who is now thriving in ways I never thought possible.

I want Brittani to know that her class has made a significant impact, and I am deeply grateful for her dedication and commitment. It is inspiring to see a business like SARRC taking such meaningful steps to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for individuals with autism. SARRC’s parent training courses have changed my life, not only do they offer crucial support, but they also raise awareness and enhance understanding within the wider community.

We were fortunate enough to enroll our son in SARRC's community program within 3 weeks of receiving our diagnosis. The support from SARRC from the initial intake, to meeting all of the amazing teachers at the community schools was comforting and empowering. I love that SARRC focuses on community awareness of autism, the business community's involvement to provide meaningful jobs, inclusion, friends and an independent life...all the things I want so badly for my little man. I am beyond grateful to SARRC for giving our family a sense of power and hope as we navigate the path ahead.

Our journey through SARRC’s diagnosing process for our son was an incredibly positive experience. Especially as it began as COVID quarantine started. My husband and I were amazed at how quickly SARRC was able to pivot with great thought and consideration through the whole process. The NODA App and transition to tele-health seemed so natural. We’re thankful to the whole SARRC team for their foresight and innovation to make the process and opportunities available.

Been calling, leaving voice mails, and emailing them for months and still no appointment. They said they would have appointments available in the next month, and then the moment I call them back. They told me the same thing. Waited another month, and they said they will have appointments available this Monday, and no one picked up my calls nor called me back. Today was my last attempt of contacting them, and then I decided to look for a different clinic. Now I have to drive 2 hours to a different clinic but maybe it was a sign that SARRC is not a good clinic for my son.
