I’m in real estate, so I’ve seen and worked with a ton of landscapers and honestly, no one compares to the team at Purlieu. Michael had an incredible vision and turned our small, almost unusable yard into a true tropical oasis. Everyone who comes over is blown away by it!

Taylor and Lane (Chad & Raul too!) were so detail-oriented and made sure everything was done the right way, absolutely never cutting corners and even going as far as re-laying stone work that was pre-existing because they wanted everything to look just right. That’s just one tiny example of how much they cared about every detail along the way. The whole crew was super friendly, easy to work with, and always open to my ideas. They worked efficiently and were extremely trustworthy, which means a lot when you’ve got people at your home every day. Their fence crew was also unbelievable, I was so impressed.

It’s true what they say: you get what you pay for. These guys are worth every penny, and I can’t recommend them enough!

Purlieu Landscapes did a great job with our backyard design. They helped us with two pieces: 1) a full design of our entire 1-acre property broken out into several smaller projects so that we could tackle them over time and 2) fully completing one of the projects for us. They did an excellent job with both.

For the project we took on first, Purlieu created a beautiful design for a previously empty part of our yard. Off of our master bedroom, it is now a nice retreat featuring natural rock hardscaping, colorful planting, and a hot tub. The Purlieu team did a great job planning, executing, and communicating throughout the project. I highly recommend their work!

I was first introduced to Purlieu when my neighbors used them for landscape design and installation. We live in a new home community that lacks landscaping character and maturity. My neighbors became good friends with Michael, the Purlieu landscape lead designer, who did a wonderful job bringing their vision to life. So, when I was working on my own landscaping (which incidentally started well before my neighbors') and had been very disappointed with the boring designs I'd been offered, I considered Purlieu.

Michael is passionate about beautiful landscaping and brings a unique perspective to SLO county design, similar to that found in Santa Barbara or L.A. More importantly, he seems to just "get" what the homeowner is trying to make happen even when we have no idea what we really want. It seemed as if the design was effortless for him. His enthusiasm is contagious! So, plan to be stoked about your landscaping design and installation. Do yourself a favor and learn from my mistakes: I hired three designers before I knew about Purlieu. Start here, and you won't be disappointed!

We have been using Purlieu Landscape and Design now for over a year. Our yards and gardens receive a visit every other week and the landscapers are here with 2 people for at least 2 hours per visit. Of our 2 1/2 acre property, the landscapers maintain roughly 1/2 acre in gardens and orchard.

Our lead coordinator, Kyle, has been really good and always is willing to go the extra mile with his team. He doesn't wait for us to bring any matters to his attention, but rather asks us what else we would like his team to address. Kyle's team of 2 landscapers are very aware of any seasonal matters that need to be taken care of and generally will immediately move from task to task on each visit. If we have any special requests the team quickly makes them happen.

Our orchard and gardens have never been in better condition and truly add beauty to our property!

We used Purlieu Landscaping to design and install and maintain a new garden when the house was constructed. They were very easy to work with and we enjoyed our interactions with Michael Vogt and Taylor Boyle. Kyle Jackson supervised the initial maintenance and made sure that all the irrigation worked as planned. We wanted a bird and pollinator- friendly drought- tolerant landscape that was also easy to maintain. They came up with great choices and we couldn’t be more satisfied with the way the plantings came together and the months of bloom that have supported hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies. We put in a small grassy area for the dogs and a dog friendly water tub with a unique fountain that also allows birds to drink and bathe.
If you’re lucky enough to get Ramon for the ongoing maintenance, you will be very happy. Ramon has the magic touch for reviving plants that need a little TLC and he is very responsive to any comments about the garden. We walk through the yard on garden day and when I point any little thing out, it is taken care of that day.

Great company. Francisco and Fernando come by every other week for maintenance and always work hard and smart. They go above and beyond, always fixing little things that aren't necessarily part of the job description. Highly recommend!
