These people called me 1-2x a day and emailed me 2-3x a day while interview was pending. They kept asking me my birthdate and year, even after I told them they could not legally ask that question. It's like they had never done this before, or maybe they never had a qualified candidate before.
After the interview, they ghosted me. No emails or calls about how it went. In hindsight, the customer probably wanted someone younger, and they didn't know how to handle that.
Luckily, a found a good position with a great company a couple of months after this debacle of an experience. I think this may well be my last job. Great company, good group of people, company actually values its people asnpeople, and doesn't treat us like staff scum.
My advice: don't hesitate to push back if you don't like the direction the pruning questions are going.
