I had an amazing full day remote hiking tour with Ani! It was definitely one of the hardest ones I have done but so glad I pushed my own boundaries a bit and did it! The view is spectacular. If you are a visitor like me, please do not limit yourself with leisure trails close to Kodiak downtown. Those are great, but there are something greater out there. And if you are not an avid hiker (I am not), get a local guide like Ani so you can experience the true Alaskan wilderness in a fun and safe way. She will bring gears and gadgets that you didn’t even know you need (but you definitely do) to make sure your experience is pleasant, fun and hassle free. Oh and the picnic is delicious! Ani is also very flexible, always try accommodate guest’s needs and adjust the tour to make it more enjoyable. I highly recommend her tour to anyone visit Kodiak!

Ani is an expert storyteller, with the life experiences to add the necessary authenticity. Within minutes she had our whole group hanging on her every word, excited to ask their next question. We heard some awesome stories about extreme fishing, the history of Kodiak, and human survival in extreme conditions. It’s amazing to hear these stories while “on site” in the Kodiak Harbor, looking at the fishing boats, king crab dioramas and Ani demonstrating how to use a cold water survival suit at the fisherman’s memorial. I think she has a story for everyone and it’s well worth it to hear them.

We had a mid-to-hard hike in the middle of Kodiak island! Good also for who enjoys a nice picnic on the top of the ridge. 5hrs in the nature, far from where the bears hang out 🙂 Ani is a nature and wildlife professional?100% recommended
