What an incredible find for us at Gulf Coast Offshore fishing charters. Parts and service for our 6 new Suzuki 300 outboards. Josh in service is incredibly knowledgeable in both electronic and mechanical design of these motors and controls. Stephen, the service manager, was extremely flexible in getting Josh to us at the ramp to assist with the 6 motors first service and work through some rigging bugs with the new Gen 2 controls. Steve and Liam in parts put everything together for us to pick up the day before. Extremely organized place which obviously equates to very detailed work. Excited to have them as a partner as we know what being on the water every day can do to your equipment.

Bought twin Suzuki outboards! After year waiting finally got motors that we had to settle with cause all they could get in what ordered. 6 months later had plastics come apart at bolts. Took in for warranty repair was charged $750 dollars for unrelated issue without a phone call or email. They will do any thing to get you in door then charge you for everything after and act like they are doing you a favor.

I hope this review allows other people to avoid wasting time, money and the undo stress this business will cause you. 4 months and over $8,500 spent I pulled my boat away from Innovations Marine without the original problem being repaired. If you do not have an open check book or if you question anything even if it doesn’t seem right you do not want to do business here. The service manager has very little mechanical boat experience is not a good communicator, has to talk to technicians for clarity and will give you misinformation continually. Put everything you do here in writing at the end of the day it won’t matter but you will be able to follow the trail and realize the problem is not you. I saw things going sideways time and time again raised concern and they do not care because in their eye they do not make mistakes and they are the end all be all. The boat business is difficult and finding a reliable source for boat service and repair is hard but I can promise you this is not the place you want to take your boat. If I can save one person the aggravation and expense this has caused me this review was worth it!!

I have a long trail of communications I have referred to often during this process and have come to one conclusion this business should not operate to the general public they are a high end speed shop and should stick with that and the people that do not care about time, ethics and money!

This is a warning to all boaters that may need work done on their boat. I had a terrible experience with this company last month. They are very greedy and dishonest, so I decided to warn others. There are too many good boat mechanics out there...so find one other than Innovation Marine in Sarasota. They quoted me $115 per hour for a mechanic to come to the house and a $75 trip fee. Since I called around I knew that these numbers were in line with the market. I was told I would get a estimate emailed to me BEFORE the scheduled maintenance date. I never did. I was told by Jim (who was the one who quoted me) that he was busy and forgot! Since it was the morning of my scheduled appointment, I told Jim to still send the mechanic. TWO guys showed up and I didn’t think too much of it because other boat repair companies send a mechanic and a helper. When I got the bill I was billed $230 an hour and a hourly TRIP CHARGE! NEVER did Jim say it was $115 per mechanic or that the trip charge was hourly and not just a flat rate of $75! I received a $1900 bill for general maintenance on my engine and generator! I called ALL my boating friends and they all agreed that I was being taken! My friends never heard of an HOURLY trip charge or charging $230 an hour for a mechanic. I would of NEVER hired this company in the first place if they provided me quote in writing like they were supposed to do! Remember, I called around so I knew that $110 to $120 per hour was the going rate for a boat mechanic. After 6 weeks of fighting with them, they reduced the hourly rate to $115 an hour like quoted on the initial phone call. It was a painful 6 weeks! If I can save someone this trouble with this post, I will be happy!
