What a gem in the heart of a classic beach town. We loved the vibrant feel of this property, putting us in the middle of all the fun an energy around the pier. It’s definitely a bustling spot, so if you need solitude and quiet, this isn’t your place. The rooms were a pleasant surprise -- they seemed to be recently renovated, were very clean, and had modern décor. The staff here are truly outstanding – very friendly and helpful! The rooftop restaurant/bar is a highlight, and the fitness center is excellent. The pool is on the small side, so don't expect to do laps. Pro tip #1: use the valet parking, as street parking is tough. Pro tip #2: avoid the rooms above the karaoke bar

The hotel was nice, the bedding was nice, the HVAC worked excellent. Those are all good things||But here is the GAME they play… ||Valet parking is required at a rate of $45 a day. Plus you are charged a resort fee daily. But how is a day defined? ||The hotel staff told me via telephone call that they are really in a partnership with Marriott and as such they also have charges that may be above and beyond what may be shown on the Marriott sites. ||So I, as a Platinum Elite Bonvoy level Marriott customer got a late checkout scheduled for 2 PM. I checked out around 12:30 pm to 1 PM. Of course upon checking out the staff does not give you a printout of your charges. ||And today I learned I was charged an additional $20 for Valet Parking because I did not get my car out of Valet Parking by 11 AM… ||So they can charge another fee of $20. Upon checking the front desk staff never stated any of this nor was I given a form from valet when I gave them my car keys that duly noted this point. ||Essentially this property charges a resort fee (I do not know what this covers, perhaps it buys toilet paper) and then the $45 per day valet parking fee (Exactly how is a day defined?), upon calling the front desk they say that the Valet is an independent 3rd party and they have no say in the matter. But the front desk collects these fees, so they are involved. ||So I guess it’s better to go elsewhere because if the management plays these games all they essentially are doing is maximizing their profit margins.

Location was the best. Stayed in oceanfront room second level. The view was nice but do have the pier parking lot right in front. Only complaint was that the pool was very small. Size of an XL hot tub. Would say a kids pool. It's also right in the middle of the rooftop restaurant so it is very awkward during dinner time. Receptionist at check in was very nice.

First I’m going to start positive, the Valet Guys were top notch they are the face of this location, the gentleman that checked us in at the front counter again top notch, our room wasn’t ready yet but he informed me that we could go to the top floor have a drink and he would call me as soon as the room was ready… he was quick because no sooner than we got up to the restaurant and ordered our drinks he was calling and texting our room was ready… but the room especially for how new the hotel is was in need of repairs. I informed housekeeping first that our blackout curtains were falling off of the rail and she said she would tell maintenance well 24 hours later nothing so the next morning I told Robert at the front desk(I think I interrupted his solitaire game on the computer because he seemed annoyed that I interrupted him) about the curtains as well and that we needed housekeeping to come change our bedding my husband sweated the bed .. he said housekeeping will take longer but maintenance will be up quickly, I said that would be fine because we would be out for several hours … well, housekeeping showed up but still no maintenance. I could handle the curtains but geez everyone except valet and restaurant employees seemed as if everyone woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Or they just don’t like their jobs. I tried to get a couple of extra bath towels from housekeeping and you would think I was trying to rob her, it wasn’t like I was just taking them off of her cart I asked for them and informed her what room we were in. But housekeeping had no problem speaking much louder than the hotel guests or busy on their phones. I was going to tell Robert also our bathroom mirror was broken and flickering but I was afraid I’d annoy him even more. Even at checking out I felt like I was annoying him. I was so excited to stay here we had been watching this place be built from the sand up and just prior to completion and Covid we moved out of California. We are avid Hilton Honors Members and it was really sad to see Priceline was much less expensive than it was on my Hilton App.

Overall, my stay at the Inn at the Pier was average. As a Hilton Gold member, I was upgraded to the fire pit room only after I had specifically requested it. I was only staying for a single night near the end of April during the week. My room was spacious, but I noticed that the countertop in the bathroom was not wiped down by the cleaning service after the previous guest. There was also significant rust on the shower racks.

The service from the front desk could use some improvement. I asked if I could get some utensils and plates for a meal I was planning to have in my room, but he informed me that they could only provide me with a plastic fork and knife and that they don’t provide plates to guests. This was strange because I could have ordered food to my room, and I’m sure plates would have come with it.

The rooftop pool and bar were great, but only because of the happy hour. The food and drink prices on the HH menu were reasonable. However, the pool was a joke! My jacuzzi at home was bigger than the pool.

Stayed for a one night stop over on a road trip. Rooms were amazing, clean, modern and fresh - all the amenities you could want.

Valet service - the gents who were working were great, helpful and took all our bags to the room. Friendly and chatted and played with our son. Great team.

Front desk - warm greeting however when asked if they had an alternative to milk on site I would say she felt this wasn’t her issue and provided no help at all and implied she didn’t think they had any on site. This made us think there was nothing on site, we then spent a could hour walking around trying to find some (our son is dairy intolerant) we were unsuccessful. When we returned we chatted quickly to the bar team in the lobby who corrected her and kindly provided a cup of soya milk.

Location - amazing right on the pier and beach it was a little cold to indulge too much for us but we did go for a walk and it was a perfect location.

Breakfast - we had a mix of service a friendly waitress and not so friendly. I was surprised to have to ask if I could retrieve a high chair from what I would deem a staff only area. The food was good a little slow but great if you aren’t in a rush.

Looked popular was with business people.

Hotel the very dirty. Stained carpet throughout the hallways and garbage left in common areas without being picked up for days. The pool is in the rooftop restaurant so it's not really usable. The hotel is right in downtown Pismo Beach which was nice but otherwise it seems neglected by management.

We had a lovely room overlooking the pier. The bedding was clean and luxurious. The view really couldn't be beat. The spacious room with full sized refrigerator and a good sized kitchenette was convenient. The location was handy to go to local restaurants or the beach. The staff was friendly and well trained to be helpful and polite. I would highly recommend.
