Google fiber was horrible in North Hills area of Raleigh. Upload/download speeds fluctuated widely & rebooting the router often didn’t fix the problem. After 8 months of problems, went back to ATT fiber with great speed, no interruptions & better support.

When I signed up for this service a couple of years ago, it was fast and did not have as many outages as Spectrum. However, there have been problems recently that has led to slow speed (they said it was due to line breakage because of the weather) and outages in the past month. They don’t do a good job of communicating when there’s an outage and their line is often disconnected or there’s no answer when there’s an outage. When I called to complain about the slow internet a couple of weeks ago and some other times before this, they often pointed to my router as being the problem until they determined that it was a problem on their side. They need more training on customer support and a better business continuity and disaster recovery plan.

Update: decided to give Giggle another try and for the past month I’ve had outages that last a couple of minutes. This last time I decided to call them because it lasted longer and the customer service rep was trying to be a smart alec, so I’m just waiting for this month to be over and then calling in to cancel. I had to manually restart the cable modem for it to work. Plenty of other carriers out there, don’t waste your time or money here.

2025 update change to 5 stars
After 2 years of bad internet, I finally made a review on here with 1 star. Not too long after, I had a manager come out to my studio for an inspection. The manager found the issue in a quick test that 4-5 technicians could not or simply were not reporting. The managers name is JP and after he came by and found the issue (ingress or inference from my neighbor of shared home).. the issue seems to be fixed now! Wow. So if you are having issues and technicians aren't willing or cannot find the issue to your internet, make a bad review and JP will come fix your internet too!

My issue was unstable upload speed for live game streaming to twitch or YouTube. This is where my game play is being broadcasted live. You need stable upload and before it would be at 6000kb and drop as low as 1-2kb upload and it would continue being unstable, even dropping my broadcast.

The fix after manager JP visited, the live game streaming has been stable at 6000kb. Dropping to 5800kb at times but that is still very minor drop. This is now considered fixed and stable, thanks JP for fixing my internet.

Plan: $40 per month, 500 down 20 upload.

Still have yet to find a honest internet service provider.

I first tried spectrum. They get you with promo offers for a limited time. You have to keep negotiating every year and then it's still overpriced.

Then there's giggle fiber, a decent price of $40 a month... until they turn off my internet use for live streaming. I live alone and don't ever come close to going over my data speeds. 500/20 speed is plenty and to actually live stream gaming you need about 15mb stable upload. While you have 20mb, it's not stable and even shut-off the live stream because it's so unstable.

I sent out complaints to giggle fiber and they just keep trying to upsell my speeds plan. Upselling when I'm not even close to using all my speeds in a single person residence..

They are not an honest company.

Im waiting for Sonic Internet to be available in the area before I cancel with Giggle Fiber.

The internet also goes entirely down randomly, with no notices.

For someone who just browses the internet this is probably the cheapest plan in the area. If you do anything more, just know they will restrict your internet in order to bait upselling for you to get a higher speed plan.

They did manage to upsell me to the $60 plan 1gb down 40mb upload. I did it to test my live stream gaming and it still has trouble with stable 15mb upload speeds. This is with the increased 40mb upload limit. Very sad, terrible service.

Upload is the important speed, here it is very low and still cost the same as others around the country with much higher upload. It's too bad internet companies are a monopoly.

Extremely disappointed in their internet recently. Super inconsistent connection especially on the weekends and high traffic times. Does not post the given speeds. I have the 1000Mbps plan and here are my results on speedtest. I am considering switching off to another isp.

I've used Giggle Fiber for over 8 years at both my home and my work in Monrovia. When our office moved to a new location, which was an older building with no prior cable service. Giggle was very prompt, worked with and the city to get us connected. Great company and great service.
