Year update after ___

I worked here for over 6 years, (press operator, co-op for school, and estimating) and it was a ride. Years ago, b4 the VP of production retired, things were cool. Ppl were nice if you were nice to them (a good majority if them). Ever since covid started, things got very bumpy. A lot ppl either resigned or retire and those were the ppl that made this company go forward. Now, I can personally say, isn't going anywhere fast. Need help from HR, she's barely there. Some of sales barely know what they do as a company. I am surprised of the ppl that stayed there for this long. There is a reason why the help wanted sign out front has been up more than 4 years straight; it hard to keep new ppl in there. Really depends on what you do but think the minimum pay, expensive health insurance, and barely any work to go around. Then think of the behaviors the ppl developed over the years that haven't left. Ya, not pretty. If you are from a temp agency, stay there temporary. If you want to advance in this company, there isn't much room. You have to wait until someone either leaves, gets fired, or retire. Then and only then you might have a shot. Anything else, try somewhere else.

I will end on this, I won't talk about how i got fired but i will say this. It has been an entire week after and I haven't heard word, any paperwork of my termination, or a phone call back on the whereabouts of my personal stuff. NOTHING! The president is out of the country! Why he has to do with me? His final say. BULL! This shouldn't take this long but it has. This company is slow. I get it. A lot of employees to manage but a good company would have a sit down and explain what the situation was. Not walk them out and don't get in contact with them after a week.

Rich company but it has a bad and weak backbone.

Update: 1-17-24; I went back to the building today and asked for my hard drive. Little that i knew, they deleted everything off of it! No phone calls or emails about what was going to happen and they went ahead and... BULL$41+. Should've been a sit down to discuss what did happen and what next not just delete and here you go! UNPROFFESIONAL COMPANY! Even called the cops on me and my family to leave. HR was scared of only 3 black folks. Please.

Word of advice when dealing with this company; leave before they get the chance to ruin your life.

Final update after a year has passed.

Let's set this straight 1st: I didn't mind working there for the 5 years I was in production. The lack of a challenge and their inability to provide me something more so I better improve myself was the reasons i left in 2022. I wanted to get better at printing but when they wanted me to go backwards in career and make paper. Like i said up there, no advancement in this company whatsoever.

2nd: My reason to I came back in 2023 was because I didn't want my resume to only show press operator. I wanted to be known as a printer and I needed to learn the overall ins and outs of how a printing business works. I wanted to be an estimator to put my foot towards that goal.

Moreover, it is how the front office handled my situation is the reason they left a bad taste in my mouth. It took to the end of the year to have them explain what I did. Honestly, this could've been handled months prior to my termination.

I have a learning disability. If I make a mistake, I'm bound to repeat it until I have a firm habit to not to do it. Usually it might take more than 3-4 tries for me to realize the fact. If I was properly wrote up months prior to my termination, I would've never been fired (for that reason). I wasn't. Just verbal warnings. That only tells me to be more careful but it didn't tell me stop it completely. The front office knew about my disability; well hopefully they did.
The front office doesn't have much experience with rowdy folks or people with mental disabilities.

Lastly, I don't regret the decision I made that got me fired. Would I work here again? Nope! Even if the people who fired me were gone, more money, etc. The answer is still no!

I slept there no problem, quiet and safe place. but they sent me to another warehouse about 3 miles from there, quick empty 15 min.
