I cannot recommend Footloose enough! Kevin was amazing at fitting my boots with the right custom orthotic at an incredible price! I've paid 3 times as much at other places for a "custom" orthotic that wasn't molded to my foot. He was able to fit my snowboard boots with a custom orthotic, and mold my liners at the same time. The service and product is excellent! They have a particular way of doing things, and it is the right way.

Outstanding customer service. Kevin was wonderful. This man knows shoes and how to get the right fit for you. My nephew brought his trendy new work boots to hike in. Blisters after day one, not good on a 4 day trip. Got into footloose early Monday morning, spent the next 90 minutes or so with Kevin, trying on shoes, getting some wool socks, walking up and down the mini incline they have in the shop, and listening to him tell some stories. An authentic experience with a good man. Not there for the quick dollar or pushy sale, there to make sure the customer is satisfied with their purchase. Anytime you are in need of anything in the sports world give footloose and Kevin a shot at your business. You will not be disappointed.

I can only speak to the Ebike rentals here. I’ve tried renting here twice, and the lack of competency by the staff is getting pretty laughable. The first time I came here they had locks, but did not have the keys for the locks. The guy just stared at me without any desire to propose any solution. and nobody had a way to just take a lock off the shelf and add it to the rental inventory. They could have easily given me a $20 lock and made $100 off the rental. The second time I show up The brakes on the bike don’t work and they look at me puzzled as to what they should do about it. Finally, after a bunch of confused pauses, they realized that they would have to replace the brakes on the bike. But this happened after a bunch of blank stares. Seriously feels like the junior staff here takes rips a bong before showing up to work 😂 probably they have better inventory earlier in the season.

Went to Mammoth with the family and stopped by to look around. Friendly knowledgable staff. Eric, River, and Sean, all three took care of me. I ended up buying 4 sets of bindings with mounts, and a new pair of Nordica boots. Great place to get ski gear from. I highly recommend them..

If you're looking for terrible customer service but knowledgeable bootfitters, then Footloose is your best bet.

They are absolutely the rudest rental/demo shop in Mammoth. I've used other shops, and they've all been patient and understanding of my questions and concerns. Of course there are some nice people at Footloose, but most of my experiences have been encounters with people who were straight up impolite and condescending.

The wait time to rent/demo anything is absurdly long, so plan to get there early if you want to get first chair. I came at 8AM and wasn't out the door until 930AM. Part of that long wait was due to one of the workers mistakenly telling me to wait in the wrong line, so I had to go to the end of another long line.

Quality ski tuning, friendly service. They did a great job. Used to tune 8 pairs of skis when I was ski racing/have been skiing for 90% of my life so I know a good tune when I feel it. You get what you pay for but they do seem to be 20-30% more expensive than Sun and Ski Sports or Fast Ski sports.

$85 for a mount
$45 for an iron wax, etc, etc

Would recommend trying one of the other places first if price is a concern

Amazing store to rent skiing equipment or even to buy new ones in Mammoth Lakes. Friendly and very patient staff. They will answer most questions patiently in order to try to help the customer and give a great experience. The guys at the shoe fitting/testing are outstanding, they make sure you get the right skiing shoes size and you are comfortable with it by assisting the customer through the process of testing the skiing shoes on.

I had some issues with a bike, brought it in, they fixed it, and by the time I made it to the Mammoth Bike park to ride (without putting any weight on my bike), I still had issues. Aubrey and River were amazing and helped make it right! Love this shop and the folks who work here. 100/10 recommend choosing this shop for your biking, skiing, and your general outdoor needs.
