Fresh off our stay @ DH Beach Resort. Overall had a great time at this location but we'll mull over pros/cons before we decide to stay here again.
Pros: Obv. location, the Pool/Gulf view is outstanding! Free coffee every day. Easy in/out free parking. Enjoyed seperate bedroom from living space. Beautiful balcony although screened in would be nice.
Cons: Housekeeping only every 5 days, you''ll need to visit the front desk for TP at some point no doubt and for sure do some sweeping. Slow elevators. And, I hate to call anyone out but for the price point, I feel validated. Absolute lack of personality at front desk. Never welcomed us to the resort or barely even acknowleged our existence upon departure other than here's your receipt. Saying it loudly, YOU ARE IN THE CUSTOMER SERVICE BUSINESS! We joked that we were 10x welcomed more warmly at the Waffle House when we stopped in for breakfast. Overall, amazing location but lacking customer service and hospitality but those can be fixed if they so choose.

We stayed 3 wonderful days with our two young kids. The pool is fantastic, and the newly renovated outdoor bar is a welcome addition. We did not find any real construction that influenced our trip. This was our second year at the Diamond Head and we’ll definitely be back.

DiamondHead is definitely a mixed bag. First the positives.. the staff at Cabanas are fantastic.. attentive and always with a smile. The bellhop John.. just as great as the staff at Cabanas. Our beachfront room view did not disappoint and the beach was certainly less crowded than Lani Kai and Margaritaville .. which was a huge plus for us. Now the negatives.. front desk staff were constantly meh.. seemed like you were bothering them if you had a question and one refused to go through our final bill with us. We also requested a late checkout when we made the reservation, when we checked in, and the day before check out. They made us call at 7am the day of check out to see if it was available. Unfortunately it was not.. but really poor customer service not telling us before then.. having to wake out early on our last morning.. they obviously knew the room was already booked. The other issue was the cleanliness of the room.. or lack there of.. sand was everywhere on the floor as soon as we walked in.. tables/bathroom vanity/kitchen cabinets had stains/marks on them, and really needed a good cleaning. Not sure if we would stay here again.. as our favorite part was Cabanas and you don’t have to stay on property to eat there.

We arrived to have dinner with 7 ppl at Cabanas and there were no tables available and it was cool and windy out. Manager Craig immediately moved to sit is on the pool deck instead of the restaurant we were so excited to get a private area from the restaurant and the loud music as we had a baby, he was outstanding and extremely hospitable. Service was fabulous and quick. Kudos to Craig and the bartenders. After dinner we had a quick drink in the lobby bar and service was also great. Thanks for a great time!

Just finished our stay at Diamondhead and I must say it was wonderful. The resort has recovered from Ian and after reading some reviews wanted to say all three elevators are now functional and the beach replenishment project has moved a few blocks further south down the island. Was pleasantly surprised we had entertainment at Cabana’s and Coste’ lounge daily and have to mention the pulled pork Mac’n cheese was awesome! Wife also liked sun lounging on our own private balcony that looked straight over the pool to the beach. Everything was top notch, can’t wait to return!

Still under construction from hurricane damage. Traffic was terrible. Beach also has construction 24/7. The sand was like mud and the water was very clouded with muck presumably from the construction work. The pool closed early and so did the restaurant ☹️ When we checked in the fridge had poured water all over the floor. Maintenance came right up and fixed it. The bathroom sink was also clogged. The good stuff: nice big room with kind bed in bedroom, full-size pull out couch, very nice large outdoor balcony with a great sunrise ocean view, restaurant staff was very friendly. Once the work is finished this will be a great hotel again. We visited 1/24/25-1/29/25

The hotel itself was gorgeous, great location, right on the beach! The room was pretty nice as well, equipped with nearly everything you would need, including a dish washer! The pool, hot tub and outdoor bar were very nice! I liked that the room keys were actually water proof bracelets! I also loved the complimentary coffee in the lobby!

My biggest complaint is the noise level from the 24/7 beach reconstruction and the fact that everything around there closes early, so you couldn’t get food after 9pm. We ended up going to the hotel’s bar to get food, but it wasn’t very good…$9 for French fries and over $20 for a “margarita pizza” which had massively thick tomato slices just slapped onto it.

Overall, I would stay here again, I would just plan a bit differently! Be sure to have dinner early and don’t expect to sleep with the sliding glass doors open.

The resort was great but I had the worst service EVER at the restaurant. The waitress asked us to close out because she was cut but we hadn't received our food yet so we asked if it was coming. She said no and that the kitchen was closed now. She forgot to ring it in - I totally understand that it happens, but she offered no apologizes, didn't offer to make it right, simply kept circling back to see if we'd put our card down yet. When we spoke to the manager, he basically said she wasn't good at her job and offered to comp three of our six suncruiser drinks. Totally understand that mistakes happen, but I just don't feel that this was handled appropriately at all by the waitress or the manager.
