The INRSEP staff have always been friendly, kind, respectful, and helpful every time I walk through their door. I have never left the house with unanswered questions and if I do have unanswered questions they always point me to who would be able to help. INRSEP is a place where students can go and have quiet space to do homework, get school supplies, get academic support, print stuff out, make new connections with other people.

INRSEP has been my little home away from home since I came here to Humboldt. But it is more than just that. INRSEP is the one place every student should know about. From where I
stand, INRSEP is here to enrich students by integrating them into both the community and the workforce for the benefit of students. INRSEP is more than just that though; INRSEP is a place to come and enjoy the people that are there because they are like you in the sense that they have similar goals. Once you've been here at INRSEP long enough, INRSEP starts to become sort
of like a family. That is what INRSEP is from my perspective.

When I first came to INRSEP, they gave me my first job and internship experience on and off campus. INRSEP has allowed me to seek out rare opportunities, such as going to Woods Hole for The Woods Hole Partnership Education Program. INRSEP has given me research experience and allowed me to attend conferences like my first trip to SACNAS.
Now a part of COMPASS, INRSEP has become part of a well-rounded program geared for all STEM students of many backgrounds. The COMPASS program has INRSEP and other life-changing opportunity-seeking programs like MCNAIR and LSAMP that help low-income students get their PhDs. Someone told me, β€œThis is the place where they make academic monsters.” And I’m glad to say it truly is.
