We have lived in Anthem for 4 years and we absolutely love it. Yes, the CC & R's are strict, but we get SO MANY AMMENITIES for such a small HOA fee. I am a realtor and see other communities charging more in HOA monthly fees just to "maintain the landscaping along the roads." Yet we have a community pool, water park, splash pads, miles of walking trails through stunning dessert, pocket parks in every little neighborhood, huge community park, incredible community events... the list goes on. As a realtor, I can confidently say, Anthem is THE BEST community!

One story for you, our backyard wall backs up to a main road. 2 sections of the cinderblock wall were starting to lean and we noticed when pushed on they actually wobbled! My husband was so worried we'd have to pay an arm and a leg to replace the wall. I had him call the HOA and they were out within 2 days to inspect and we had the wall replaced within the month. All financially covered by the HOA.

PS. My ONLY complaint is that we aren't allowed to have market lights in our backyard - that rule is seriously so dumb. Please get with the program on this one. I get trying to avoid light pollution, but I'd rather enjoy my backyard in the evening.

I live in Anthem. ACC is useless, unhelpful, and condescending. Expect a run-around. Takes weeks to get done what could be done in a couple if hours. Not a neighborly feel, but total faux bureaucracy.
