Most ripoff and dysfunctional company I ever dealt with. Its a crime on what they do because they make you pay multiple times for same container and they bill you for containers that don't belong to you. If you don't pay, they won't let you ship.

I am an exporter and I export stuff out of Oakland port. In Oakland, every container is subjected to $40 port fee. Emodal doesn't tell you when the fees are due and they don't send invoices. You have to check online and see whats due. On multiple occasions, they bill you for the same container more than once and if you don't pay, they lock your account and prevent you from moving cargo out of Oakland. I send dispute, but it will take them days to fix. That is time I don't have because I'm constantly shipping.

Also, they don't bill you for every container until months later. When they do bill for these old containers, they all show past due from months ago. They would bill me like 1000 containers from months ago all at once. I would have to check each one to confirm they are mine and not already paid. When I do try to pay for all of them, they only let you pay 100 containers at a time.

Sometimes they will be me for containers that don't belong to me. I send dispute with all the evidence and nothing happens. They just lock your account until you pay them. Meanwhile I can't move any cargo.

Worst company to deal with ever. No one to call, just email (which they will not respond to). Have been waiting on this joke of a company to get us registered to enter the Hugh Leatherman Terminal at the port in North Charleston for two days. Looks like my driver will not be spending Christmas with his family. Please do the world a favor and get out of this industry, get jobs driving for Uber or something you are actually capable of doing.
