We have been taking our 7 year old here for the last 6+ month, we see Ms. Abby and have absolutely adored how well she works with our son. One of the things that I love about this place is how much the kids faces light up when their therapist walks out. It doesn't matter who the kid is, you can tell how positively impacted they are by their therapist. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Really great place and we’ve enjoyed it for the most part but after my son had been going for about 6 moths they decided to change the rules. My 2 year old could no longer play while waiting for my others son in therapy and EVERYONE had told us it was fine up until then. This caused a lot of distress. You can’t expect a room full of toys and not expect a child to want to play. That is really not fair especially when it was previously allowed for like 6+ months. There were 2 kids there besides My son and kinda mentally abusive. My son receiving therapy services is now 11 so it’s not like I need to be watching him. It’s required to stay so I have no choice but to be there with my 2 year old. VERY UPSET

We highly recommend Ability Innovations. Our daughter has been attending speech therapy since June and has grown to love going. She takes a long time to warm up to new environments and people, but she has really grown to love Abby. Abby is always patient with her and follows her needs, not forcing her to interact with people. She lets Lita do things on her own terms, which has worked wonders. We have seen huge progress, even if it has come slowly.

I have been bringing my kids here for many years. Only months after they opened their doors. With the help of these caring and dedicated therapists and staff. My son has the strength to exceed all the medical doctors expectations.

There is a reason why this group has grown so much in the last few years. They are great at what they do and how they care for the children.

I can’t imagine where my son would be without their help. This year he was able to move at school from EE (most restrictive SpEd) to ASC. I never thought this would be possible

My partner and I attempted to use this location in order to receive OT and speech therapy for our children. Due to the children also having ABA approx 20 minutes from this location and not being released from ABA quickly enough, we were a few minutes late to an appointment. The response from this terrible location was to cut speech therapy to the kids and put them back on a waiting list. The administration bears an attitude that is incredibly holier-than-thou and had no flexibility with us.

All of this reached a head when we decided we were no longer going to go to this location and seek OT and speech therapy elsewhere. When we met the administration to notify them we were asked if we didn’t care about our kids. Completely unacceptable behavior from this location.

Ever since then, the location has attempted to charge us $75 every month. (We have blocked these charges)

We have been coming to ability innovations for over a year now for my daughter’s speech and occupational therapy services. As a parent I’m pleased by how much my child has flourished under the guidance of multiple therapists at AI. Every therapist is well trained and very knowledgeable in their respective fields. I also like that everyone works within a play based, child led approach. This allows my child to feel comfortable and to learn while enjoying their time and building skills in a fun environment.

We have been doing therapies(OT,PT,Speech,Feeding) at AI(Layton & Ogden Locations) for over1 yr now with my 5 yr old Autistic twin Boys. We work with Nick(Pamela), Aarone(Shawnee), and Liz(Aimee) Currently at Layton. We have also worked with Ben, Connie, Jenny, and Danielle(As well as many wonderful and innovative students) The reception/billing staff of Sarah, Will, Desaree(?), as well as the many other Front end staff members whose names escape me at this time, have always been friendly, supportive, and so encouraging! My little Super heroes love training at AI! I have been impressed with the facilities, friendliness, and professionality of staff both therapists and office personnel. I am so excited that we found AI and their play-based, child-led approach! You and your child(ren) will love your experiences here!!!

We have been with Nick from Ability Innovations since the very beginning, starting back in 2017 (I believe) before he founded his own company. Our daughter loved attending sessions with Nick due to his fun and engaging approach to therapy, and we appreciated the small, intimate 1:1 therapy sessions he provided.

Fast forward to 2024, Nick’s used-to-be-one-man company has now blossomed into Ability Innovations, which has grown significantly, expanding to two large clinics. The facilities are beautiful and offer a wide range of therapies, including speech, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and feeding therapy. It truly is a one-stop shop for all therapy needs. Although we no longer have the luxury of Nick as my daughter’s therapist, the therapists we've encountered have been amazing, including Mrs. Bree (SP) and Mrs. Brenda (OT).

As a family with five children, three of whom have attended therapy at AI regularly, we are very familiar with the clinic. We often spend 2-2.5 hours at a time there, making it a second home for us over the years. We remained loyal to AI even through a difficult and emotional split they had from another company/location a few years ago. We eagerly followed them to their new offices.

One of my daughters has Level 3 Autism and severe epilepsy, necessitating frequent hospitalizations and emergency interventions - specifically over the past six months. Consequently, I've had to cancel multiple appointments due to her health as it is nearly impossible for me to drag my lifeless child into therapy after a morning of violent seizures. After each cancelation, I always felt that the scheduling staff understood our unavoidable circumstances. However, my recent experiences have left me feeling quite the opposite.

This summer, we adjusted our therapy schedule to one day per week to allow our children some much-needed time to enjoy their summer. Our appointment on Tuesday (06/11) was originally rescheduled to Thursday (06/13) due to my sister experiencing complications after giving birth. As her only support, I needed to be with her. This cancellation was one of the first times we had to reschedule due to non-medical issues not related to my daughter. Although the clinic has a strict “no rescheduling a reschedule” policy, they kindly allowed us to move the previously rescheduled appointment to Friday (06/14) after even more complication arose with my sister.

On that Friday, after receiving some emotional medical results referencing our daughter’s health just before our appointment, my husband and I forgot about our 3:30 pm session. Realizing our mistake later, we agreed to pay for the missed appointment, acknowledging it was our fault.

When I arrived for our next scheduled appointment on Tuesday (06/18) and offered to pay the “no-show” fee, I was asked to speak with a staff member in the back office. There, I was informed that my daughter was pulled from therapy due to four canceled appointments and placed on a waitlist until the fall stating they needed to “DRAW THE LINE SOMEWHERE”. Despite wanting to explain our severe medical issues for the previous three cancellations (again, acknowledging the forth was our fault), I accepted their decision, feeling discarded by a clinic that once felt like family.

Although I am proud of AI's growth and success, I must say the personal care and closeness we once felt has diminished as the clinic has expanded. It now feels like we are seen merely as clients rather than part of a caring community. I no longer feel welcomed or comfortable bringing my daughter with her medical conditions to AI.

While the therapists are exceptional, the lack of understanding and compassion from the front desk and back office has made us reconsider continuing services after the summer. It is disheartening to part ways with a clinic that no longer seems to comprehend the true nature of a special needs household.
