We came to find crystals and was not disappointed. The owners are so friendly and full of information. They are just as excited to see your finds as you are and they even have a wash station for your crystals. We had a wonderful time.

Very friendly staff and owners. This mine is good to hike around and dig, much bigger than expected. Besides crystals we found plenty of spiders including a black widow, so be careful if you're out there with little ones. Other than that we highly recommend.

Went to find crystals and we did just that. Found amazing pieces... still need cleaning. Post pics if I remember. We were the first ones there, and last to leave. It was truly a wonderful day. B and " George" we exceptional host. Started as strangers and by end of the day felt like we had new friends. The school bus store was epic and we found home made goodies to bring home. B's daughter made em. If I wasn't terrible with names I'd of remembered hers. But she also got out and helped me dig a stubborn crystal. Definitely will be back to see this lovely family and great mine.

Avatar Mines was quite the experience, and one I hope to return to! The road in was a bit difficult, but our pampered urban car managed to make it through with little trouble. The people running the mines were very friendly and happy to help, offering us umbrellas for shade and tools to dig, as well as all the tips we needed to find those shiny crystals. They took us to the site and let us loose. It had just rained that morning, so many of the crystals were exposed. The hills sparkled as if they had been sprinkled with glitter. Immediately, all rational thought left our brains, and we became like animals, guided by these primal instincts:
1. See shiny
2. Pick up shiny
3. Happy
4. Repeat

By the end, our greedy gathering rewarded us with more crystals than we knew what to do with. There was a handy washing station set up, so we could wash the mud off these crystals and get a good look at them. The people were quite happy to look at our finds and remark on all the special little things in each crystal. Overall it was a very fun time. I highly recommend giving it a try, just be prepared for mud and sun, and your own inner magpie!

This place is the absolute best Crystal mine that we have been to. We found many decent sized crystals. The owners are super people. Very helpful and friendly. There's a lot of untouched land here, not picked through already like many other mines.

The owner is known for reporting all bad reports as spam is why their ratings are so high. BUT we had such a horrible and frightening experience I felt that we needed to forewarn any and all people that would consider going out into the middle of the woods only to find themselves alone with an unstable person. This is the first negative review I have ever given. The old lady there was over the top, extremely rude and fowl mouthed. She was the most unprofessional person I may have EVER encountered. The louder she screamed at us the quieter we got so not to enrage her more. We were scared because of how psychotic she was acting that we could be in danger and was just trying to remove ourselves from her presence. The language she used was extremely unnecessary. It started because we didn’t know the rules (never been there before). Our very small party were walking towards the dig area when screaming started. Then when we didn’t engage, the terrible threats against us followed. I’m from central AR. I was showing my out of state family the crystal dig industry of Arkansas. We weren’t even given the chance to decide if we were going to or be able to dig. My family stated that we have ONLY experienced the kindest of people in Arkansas until today.
