Online submittal is easier than before but..... Once approve you need to email another department to let you know the permit fee (7-10 days) or you need to physically drive down to pay for permit (still don't understand why you cant just do everything over the phone).

If you are brave enough to ask the representative the logic behind this procedure (in my case, records dept. 4/3/23 4:00pm) they treat you unprofessional and just tell you "that's the way our system works", tried to get a supervisor to explain and got back a "there is nothing to discuss". I hope this changes one day and the public get the service we deserve.

Had a question regarding review comments to an existing permit application. Susan had a rude tone, stating she had already told me the information. When I asked for her name, she said "what's yours?". She is likely the person giving everyone a hard time when looking for answers.

On the other hand, Jessica was great and very helpful.

Im new on this online permits and called about a permit I submitted and wanted to know the status because due date for reviewers expired and havent heard back from them, so called the number they provided and the lady that answer the phone was rude, impatience and it looked like she was having a bad day and treated me with disrespect from the start, I was not rude nor disrespectful, her name is Sue and not sure if she provided me her real name, will call planning and development office to complain, will let you know the outcome.

I dealt with this group when I was thinking about opening a store front in Scottsdale. Even though it didn't work out, I found them to be wonderful, friendly, and helpful. Their office is a little hidden in the library building. It's on the west side and to the north of the main library entrance

The website is trash. I log into account to print my approved plans and they are no where to be found. I enter the info but it says error and i try another way for a different option and it takes it but does show the stamped plans just a timeline of the process and a receipt. Have to cancel inspection. Ridiculous

You can apply for a permit online. You just can't pay for it online unless you email in a request, which currently takes 21 business days to do. So you have an online process but still need to drive down there and pay for it. Shame on them.

Staff was not helpful at all. Doing everything in their power to get off the phone or transfer the call. Takes 3-4 days to answer a single, simple question. Additionally, when asked for help navigating the site so I could just find the information myself, I got transferred.

Well it's not horrible for a government run place. At least the wait was short. The sign people are insanely helpful.
