Falsely accused of damage to furniture in a unit. We've been renting from them for over 20 years without a problem, and they blamed prior damage on us and kept part of our deposit. Lost a large group of customers due to this. I highly recommend meticulously recording any rental as soon as you get there to document any prior damage and take it to the office immediately. They will not believe you otherwise.

It's actually laughable that they said this piece of tape wasn't there before us, but it was just after. Sure, we found an old piece of tape and stuck it on there. Oh, and it looks like we also went out and bought a color matching pen or glue or something to hide the damage. Right! Not to mention the magic time lapse in the age of the tape in photos they sent me. Regardless of what they claim, they are wrong. I was in the unit many times. We are not dishonest people who would try to cover up damage. We are mature women who can afford to cover the cost of any damage and would own it if we had caused it.

They're very efficient. The people are really friendly there. Only criticism would be check in time and flexibility for access especially after you just drove 3 days to get there. Rules are rules I guess. I've rented from the a couple of times and the rentals are always in tip top shape.

Beware they took part of my deposit saying there was a hole in The wall behind the door if I did it, I would 100% pay for it. I asked for proof that the hole was not there prior to check-in. It was more of a dent, not a hole as an Airbnb host we videotape our homes before the guest check-in so these kind of things do not happen and I do not charge guests that did not cause damages they have zero proof told me I was blacklisted and hung up on me.. pick you battle and use someone else. Also, I’ll add one more thing when I called and asked for a check-in an hour early they told me the house was still being cleaned when we arrived. The house had not been freshly clean. There was dead flies in the shower, but I thought it’s a fly. I’ll wash it down the drain, but after having all these problems, it should be noted..
I’ll add to this review after their response about being black listed. Never once did they say I was not welcome back until I called on the extra charge the house was
Spotless when we left there are many Airbnb’s in Avila I can rent with all my good reviews on that platform not worried about this company wouldn’t rent from them again anyways. I also asked for pictures they said they only had that one nothing from before check in. How do we know housekeeping didn’t do it or the guest prior? I would video the house if you plan on staying there to protect yourself.

I love Coastal Vacation Rentals. We’ve been renting from them for over 2 yrs. Anytime we have an issue with the house, we give them a call & they’re fast to respond with getting someone out to the house. I’d recommend this agency to my friends & family.

I give a five star rating !! I can't say enough good about everyone at "Coastal Vacation Rentals". Erin, Ken, Rosalie, Barbara, all who work there and have helped my husband and I tremendously. Best company and people I have had the pleasure of renting from in Pismo Beach. We were totally new to the area for a company transfer for my husband's work. We explained we were looking for a furnished long term rental; and they matched us perfectly to the best units in town to choose from. They all made it so easy to move in and so helpful and accommodating all our needs. Everyone in the office is so friendly and really takes the time to make your rental move such a pleasant experience. I would never go anywhere else; we had tried two other local property management companies prior that were no help at all; then found Coastal Vacation rentals. Don't waste your time with any other's like we had. Go direct to the best the first time !! Ken and Rosalie found us our place in one day, and it's perfect ! Thank you to all in your office.

What a great company! If only all vacation rentals were run so well! I booked two nearby beach properties at the same time for a family trip to the coast so there was extra “juggling” in the planning with two separate places and I could not have felt better supported. The communication with Erin at Coastal Vacation was always so kind, understanding, accommodating, and very responsive! When unforeseen factors came up before the trip Erin was fantastic, super understanding and helped find a solution. Solid five stars! So nice to know there are companies like Coastal Vacation out there with people like Erin.

Best stay-cation ever! I am local, my family needed a place for a week while having work done in our home. We rented a place in Pismo Shores. The view was amazing! Clean clean clean!! The home was stocked with everything we needed. The kids enjoyed the beach toys that were there for our use. My hubby cooked some killer BBQ on the grill and later we went swimming in the heated pool. I secretly called the contractor working on my house and asked if he could work slower because I didn't want to go home. I loved my staycation! Coastal Vacation Rentals is amazing! Thank you Erin and Kendrick for an amazing week.

They are attempting to keep $300 of my deposit without a reasonable explanation. Been renting all over the country for the last 2 years and never had a company keep my deposit.

Edited on 5/22/19: I'm just now seeing the response from Coastal Vacations (see below). This review was written when Coastal Vacations was attempting to charge an additional $300 + my nonrefundable $300 pet deposit. Coastal admitted it was a mistake and removed the fee after I spoke with a few people in their office. I therefore upgraded my review to a 3/5 stars - overall it's a good location but make sure you review your charges at checkout.
