Overall unhappiness with their hiring process.
I am a 27+ year veteran of TRUE digital printing, marketing, advertising, label application and all within the ever-changing parameters of the world of digital printing solutions.
I have worked within the commercial printing industry in EVERY department (design to bindery) and have advanced to floor supervisor in my career-path through hands-on and college based experience.
O'neil was seeking a person with the EXACT skills that I have and I was even told by the in-place sup's that my resume could have been written directly from the list of candidate criteria. So then why did I receive the "cold shoulder" once the background was completed...?
California state law says an offer of employment MUST be made prior to the request and fulfillment of a background check of any potential new-hire. This is to insure that any denial of employment results from the candidate's not being a good-fit and NOT from any historical events that are outdated and irrelevant. This is done not only to protect the candidate from any personal bias but to protect the company from any potential legal entanglements.
It was clear that I was THE candidate who possessed all the various skills that were sought but for some unknown reason was not the best person to fill the position.
Don't assume that this post is a case of sour grapes as this all occurred over 3 years ago and I have certainly moved past any feelings of intolerance I once had...this post is simply an example of the mindset of a cutting-edge print/fulfillment provider who is still solidly against anyone who might have made wrong steps during life's paths. I simply regret the lost opportunity to be part of the unbelievable level of cutting -edge tech within the printing marketing advertising and fulfillment solutions that O'neil is pushing and this saddens me. Apparently the mistakes of my past were not to be offset but all the hard work I put in after those mistakes.
