My daughter was spiraling downward and we had very few options left. SSA accepted her on short notice. We were hesitant but hopeful, and 6 months later she is home and doing better than I could have imagined. The staff has been amazing; frequent communication and to have the open door policy to visit was such a change from her former RTC. It's only been a few weeks since graduating the program but she is doing well. I am thankful for their work with her and recommend for parents and girls who ate struggling.

The new owners of the Sedona Sky Academy are working hard every day to make a good place great. As a consultant in behavioral health, I know first-hand that they have a caring program, the students look happy, and the facility is nice. The academy is located on a beautiful 28-acre campus near Sedona with equine therapy, a mountain creek that runs through the property, and plenty of outdoor space to play. With onsite school, help with behavioral health, loving staff, and the beauty of nature, this place is a kids dream.

Any 5 star review is fake or written by parents who are brainwashed and blinded by the program. They frequently get rid of their negative reviews and pressure as many people as possible to write positive reviews. I’ve been out of the program for 4 years now and I can honestly say Sedona Sky Academy is a money hungry organization that isolates your daughter from society, breaks her down until she is compliant (no matter what it takes), and grows the gap between families. Their goal is not to get your daughter home, but to drain your pockets and keep her there. I and girls I attended SSA with experienced psychological abuse, manipulation, and bullying at the hands of the therapists, teachers, and other staff. If you love your daughter and want to see her get better, these programs are not the route you want to take.

Sedona SKY Academy is under new ownership and I am very impressed with their nurturing and supportive environment. A lot of the students come to the academy after they have experienced extreme trauma, and majority of their tuition is paid by their insurance company. It is an all-girls academy, they live on campus and attend year round school.

Everything went so much better than expected. The family involvement was exactly what we all needed to heal together. Getting help for our daughter was an extremely difficult choice, but the path she was on was taking her deeper and deeper into a self destructive lifestyle. Thank God we got help when we did. thanks to everyone who worked with our family.

They removed my review. All the 5 star reviews are fake. This “program” is based on Synanon cult-founded attack therapy that only traumatizes those involved. They force you to say the program is working and torture you. I have never gotten over the trauma this truly evil place gave me. The owners, therapists and staff better hope there is no Hell after this life. If you send your kid here, you do not deserve them. Get yourself fixed and do not have any more kids because you do not love them if you send them here.

Love the atmosphere at Sedona Sky Academy. The staff are amazing & truly show the importance of building relationships with these kids. I’ve seen a significant change in kids who come from rough backgrounds where the staff was able to connect with them & show them care first. It’s a beautiful thing how behaviors can change with just building rapport with the child & showing them that they are more than just a diagnosis!! I would definitely recommend Sedona Sky Academy to any families looking to get that extra support for their child.

this place. it doesn’t matter who buys it, who gets fired or hired or anything. this place is broken to its core. i was lucky enough to not have been there all that long. but the lies that staff told to my parents, the pain i saw on a daily basis going through nearly every person around me, the food, the schooling itself. the lack of planning around the days where we’d finally get a day out of that hell. the way they remodeled the entire rule system to get rid of ‘radical hair colors and cuts’ and ANY physical contact. (note: i have been places where you couldn’t make contact with each other. i have never been somewhere with that rule enforced so irregularly and vaguely and with such a sudden change from before.) the way the staff made us get the campus all pretty for parents when we were struggling so intensely—we were not the focus. we were never the focus. the way the head of school escalated a rumor to the point of so much suffering for so many people. the way my therapist didn’t even care about me. the way i was genuinely bullied and saw others go through it too. i know it has helped some people. i know of far more cases where it did the opposite. i know it made me regress and relapse and regret months of my life, months where i was able to be home but they wouldn’t let me. this place is rotten all the way through.
