Now I don’t normally leave reviews, but when I come across a company that makes me feel like I’ll never vacation anywhere else. That’s a place worth sharing about. Thank you guys so much. Booking the trip was easy. Was very impressed with how neat and tidy everything was kept. Ron - took us fishing he is very knowledgeable, in pretty much everything. He’s very helpful & knows all the best fishing spots. We went for the fishing but if you get the opportunity to try Angel’s cooking, (it’s what I miss most). ? Nothing like her home cooked meals. They treat you like your part of the family.
Yakutat Steelhead Inn- You deserve more than 5 stars. A company that sets the bar high, because they exceed expectations. I know they did mine.

I just got back to North Carolina from Fishing in Yakutat Alaska. My friends and I stayed at the Yakutat Steelhead Inn. We are very impressed in how Ron and his family, they treat you like part of the family. Booking the trip was so easy, they kept there lodge so neat and tidy. Ron went fishing with my friends and I. Ron Knows of the best fishing spots. after fishing we cleaned and sealed the fish in their fish cleaning room. If you get the opportunity to try Angel’s cooking it a treat, nothing like that good homemade meal. Yakutat Steelhead Inn- You deserve more than 5 stars. Thank you, so much we will see you next year.

Upon arriving at the Yakutat airport I was greeted by Ron to load up and take us to the lodge. He informed us that the fish run had begun and fishing was excellent. Ron was very knowledgeable about the equipment we would need. What we didn’t have, he had available in his little store. This was my first time there and Ron knew all the best places. Reeling in those salmon was a blast! He even has a cleaning & processing room to seal up my big catch . The lodge itself was clean & comfortable. Angel’s cleaning & cooking were top rate. I bet she’s a tired lady at the end of every day. I had an excellent time and can’t wait to go back!

This was one of the most relaxing and memorable trips we have had in many visits in this area. hen we booked this Yakatak Steel Head INN is a 10 !!!. This is why you can only find such great home cooked meals from the host family's to which they are Italy/French decent. This last September I had an experience of a lifetime of finally going to Alaska to fish for silver salmon and halibut. I went with two other friends who have been to Yakutat many times. My overall experience was fantastic. Yakutat is a small community of over 500 that is just north of Juneau. Essentially it is an island in that the only way to get there is by boat or airplane. Alaskan Airlines has two flights in and two flights out per day. To the West is the Pacific Ocean. The rest of the surrounding area is tall glacier filled mountain peaks. For the adventurous fisherman Yakutat is a definite place to consider. The only thing to do in Yakutat is fish. We spent 3 days in the ocean and one day on the Situk River. In the ocean we nearly limited out on silver salmon and halibut on a daily basis. As a fly fisherman a definite highlight was flyfishing for the sliver/coho salmon on the river.||||Most accommodations are very rustic and are geared for fisherman. We stayed at the Yakutat Steelhead Inn. This lodge is run by Ron and Angel Pelissier. Their lodge is very comfortable and is equipped with everything that one might need. They were very pleasant to work with an extremely friendly. They had a shed alongside the main building in which one could process their own fish. It consisted of a long stainless steel table with 2 sinks. We brought our own vacuum sealer and stored our fish and several large freezers.||||Ron was also our guide on the river. He has many years of experience and helped us hook into many large silver salmon. Fishing with Ron was a highlight and a definite must when I return to Yakutat next year .
