Underwhelming.
I had very high hopes but didn’t live up to the hype. Luke warm entries , cold soup thats not really soup . It seemed more like
Puréed butternut with some water. No butter , no cream an no seasoning. my wife’s dinner. Stuffed whole branzino. 2 things . #1 . $56 . if a customer ask for the fish to be fillet or the head cut off or both an even remove the skin , just do it.
#2 if you going to seat people outside on a cold night make sure the food is hot.
#3 terrible presentation on the fish.

The lamb shank was great. The chocolate pie not great. The stone fruit crumble very good . The crumble was the hottest dish that came out of the kitchen.
I’ll probably go back but next time I’ll start with just some appetizers and drinks at the bar. The deviled eggs are yummy .

Perfect dinner from start to finish. Appetizers and entrees were thoughtfully put together & thoroughly enjoyable. They were easily able to accommodate our intolerance to garlic. Our new Cape May favorite.

We had dinner at the Ebbett room last night, and it was a wonderful experience! From the very beginning, I spoke to young lady named Erin secured my reservation on the front porch was very pleasant and exactly The type of person you want to represent you on the phone or at the front door! Our server was Adrian, he was fantastic, very attentive, and made sure that everything was perfect, Again exactly the type of person you would want to represent You and your restaurant! We started with the calamari tempura, which had a different twist on it. I had the chicken With peaches and broccolini and My wife had the New York strip both were absolutely wonderful. For dessert we went for the donuts they were out of this world! All a wonderful dinner a great night and your staff was on point made us feel so comfortable. We would love to come back.! Our fav place to dine in Cape May. We enjoy sitting at the bar or front porch. Front porch is heated in colder months. Amazing staff. Food is always impeccable, especially the mussels. Decor is perfect. We never miss a chance to go here!!! ♡

Beautiful atmosphere, incredible service, and THE FOOD!!! An absolute 10 out of 10. Every dish we had was so delicious. We had six different dishes in total with perfect wine pairings from the sommelier, and every single one was very impressive. Chef Jason is so passionate about his craft and it shows. My friend and I had a wonderful time. Cannot recommend The Ebbitt Room enough! A must-do Cape May experience!

Definitely one of the best dining experiences we’ve had at the Jersey shore. The Virginia Hotel is beautiful and it was really festive for Christmas. It has the old world charm of Cape May with modern touches and a comfortable atmosphere. We ordered their cheese board to start, and it was really good - the plate included several local cheeses with honey, nuts, and fruit jelly; we also had the Parker House rolls. I ordered the half chicken with escarole, and my husband ordered the 8 oz filet mignon; both were delicious. We split the side of brussels sprouts and they were also great. To top off our experience, they had zero-proof cocktails, which were so much better than the typical juice-heavy mocktails ordered at most bars. I had the William’s Refresher and it was perfect and light. We will absolutely be back! It’s hard to find a good fine dining restaurant at the shore and the Ebbitt Room really nailed it.
