Laura is amazing. We truly loved our day with her in Sitka. Everything was so personalized, friendly, down to earth. We loved learning all about the nature around us, about Sitka, and just chatting in general! She made it so easy—picked us up and drove us around and had everything we needed. She was also very responsive to emails and all of my questions before booking with her (NOT my experience with nearly every other excursion type experience we tried to book on this cruise trip). We were away from all of the cruise traffic which was heavenly. We had thought of just renting a car and doing hikes ourselves, but ultimately wanted a guide due to our lack of time and inexperience with this location. I am SO glad we found Alpenglow—definitely saved us a few wrong turns and was just so much fun to go exploring with her! I would absolutely go again and highly recommend!

Amazing.
Toured with Laura and Nick May 2, 2024.
Amazing experience.
Laura was willing to tailor the hike to my personal needs and preferences...and while I do hike to take photographs, I felt the best course of action would be to let her pick where we went...she is the expert after all.
Definitely made the right choice.
On top of fantastic weather, Laura was informative, friendly and funny. Right from the start it felt like we had been friends for years.
The scenery was fantastic, the included meal was wonderful and I can't recommend Alpenglow enough.
I'm sure there are cheaper tours out there (I did pay for a private tour) but I have no doubt Alpenglow is the best value for the money.
The only disappointment was that the tour had to end.
For cruise ship passengers, like myself, it's worth noting that Laura is well aware of the need to get back on time and will plan your day accordingly. Had plenty of time to spare to return to ship.
Would definitely love to come back to Sitka some day and spend a full week hiking and touring this wonderful area.
For the record, Sitka was my favourite port and I feel like my experience with Alpenglow was what made this the best port.

Laura is INCREDIBLE!!!! As a local here in Sitka, I've had the opportunity to join along on a couple of Laura's guided hikes. Laura is impressively knowledgable about Sitka's trails and surrounding areas. She also has extensive backcountry training and experience worldwide. She's equipped, prepared, and safety minded - I'd blindly follow her anywhere and feel confident that I'm in good hands! As for visitors to Sitka, getting out on the trails with Laura would be a TOP pick from me!

If you are seeking a global professional who demonstrates the finest in guiding, indepth knowledge of the area, ability to meet special needs of your party, has the credentials to get your party into special and coveted places, then Alpenglow Adventures Sitka is the absolute best choice. Having traveled globally for many years, Laura and her colleague, receive the highest marks for the trip she put together for me and my adult family. The connecting pick up was smooth (even with a large party), travel was comfortable, snacks ideal, conversation engaging and interesting, and the whole hiking experience was perfect!
