Content od the course and materials are incredible. Navigation of software and ability to ease through without bumps is the only reason for 4 stars. The content and design is educational, encouraging and helps students understand various religious traumas and beliefs. Some great resources and authors have been added. Reputable and Valuable.

The Religious Trauma curriculum was informative and insightful to me as a clergy and chaplain. The material was well organized and covered people groups from all walks of life. This training help me to become more sensitive and compassionate toward those who are marginalized, ostracized, and downtrodden through church hurt and institutional abuse. I learned about helpful resources and training for clergy who are not trained in counseling Intimate Partner Violence. Using religion, rituals and other religious text to justified abuse is totally unjustified and unacceptable. I strong recommend and endorse this training for all clergy and institutional chaplaincy. The lectures were superb and some of the readings were rather long but worth the time and effort. All the best to Global Center for Religious Research.

I just went through the curriculum on Religious Trauma. I loved most of the Video presentations. SOme were extremely eye opening, confirming my on suspicions that my own religious upbringing caused trauma. Others taught me more empathy toward various groups. The last 33 lessons were presented in scientific studies which invited more contemplation and slowed me little down. I personally would have preferred more videos. Otherwise than that I would recommend this course to anyone, who is struggling between their personal orientations, and their religious upbringing.

GCRR doesn’t seem to be staffed…by anyone…except whomever accepted my payment for the Religious Trauma certification course. I’ve left voicemails, emails, website messages with no response. Evergreen denied the religious trauma certificate GCRR said this course made you eligible for. I can’t get GCRR to send me their religious trauma certificate. Then I found lots of information on Darren Slade via Reddit, all of it concerning, bizarre and discouraging.
TLDR; save your money and find a reliable/ethical educational source.

As an out LGBTQ+ ordained pastor in the ELCA Lutheran Church in America, the intersections of faith, religious trauma and LGBTQ+ life is the not only the crucible, it is at the core of my ministry. It is my belief all pastors, chaplains and lay leaders could be helped with this course. I took it for professional CEU but that is not to say it is reserved for professionals. If you are a person of faith, particularly the Christian faith, your personal apologetic and your testimony would be wonderfully impacted.

I wasn't sure what to expect and I was blown away with the presentations and how in-depth the course was. I appreciated that people no longer identifying as Christian alongside those still Christian were able to share all their knowledge and research. It was a bonus to hear so many incredible testimonials about other's religious trauma. As a trauma therapist I see the reality in my practice all the time and I have never found a training that addresses it. A course like this was much needed. Thank you.

As we work to help Religious Trauma and Spiritual abuse victims heal, this course has been incredibly helpful and insightful. It also helps us better work with churches to become safe environments for people to engage. The variety of perspectives paired with the vast clinical knowledge from the presenters provides something in this certification course that I have nto been able to find anywhere else.

The certification program at GCRR was more comprehensive than I expected. The variety of speakers and teachers with their unique backgrounds, research and approaches were extremely informative and fascinating. I learned so much about religious and spiritual trauma, and received many great resources to come back to later. What I learned and experienced will be a great benefit to me personally and also in my work as a seek to be a trauma-informed spiritual director.
