I work for the Highway Department and we always tell our crews that they need to call 811 but I’ve never had to do it myself until now. I hired a crew to come in and clean up an old home/lot that I purchased so I had to call for a locate. It was so super easy and the customer service women were so friendly. I did have an issue with the utility companies that came out ( or claimed to come and locate) they didn’t actually do their job and the operator ended up hitting a gas line. Thankfully the first responders came very quick and handled everything. I called back to talk to 811 and they documented everything and confirmed that the gas company had given a clear report. Don’t hesitate to call, they make it super easy.

Nothing but professional, knowledgeable Mississippi hospitality. The young lady that helped me late Friday evening was great in all phases of the property description, location and mapping out a plan to get the proper utilities located. She let me know that or would be complete in two days....wow!

App or website are best way to set up a locate request. Wish the maps would improve more so could give better idea of where or what is going on in that spot your requesting.
