I had the pleasure to be part of Kodiak Care 24, providing medical support to the local Alaskans. As a military member on orders, I needed a vehicle that could support my mission carrying cargo and personnel. Avis wanted $1200 for 4 days which I was going to put on my government travel card. Luckily I was referred to Stephen and Ride Scenic from a passenger on my flight over. He offered me a flat rate that included tax and no added administrative fees which was 1/4 the big car rental companies rates. The Maverick was very economical considering the price of fuel these days.

What a pleasure! I wish all my car rental experiences were like this. He delivered the vehicle to me at my hotel and I supported a locally owned business. Please do yourself a favor and use this business. Be flexible and not pretentious. Alaska has its quirks, but I’d definitely refer anyone to Ride Scenic.

Ride Scenic is wonderful for those wanting to sight see on Kodiak Island. Stephen responded promptly to my texts and requests. The Ford Navigator was perfect for us 5 military women during Artic Care 2024 to visit cliffs, beaches, docks near Sea Lions, Turbines, Ft. Abercrombie, and the Pacific Spaceport Complex. The truck was comfortable, in great condition, and the cost to rent and gas was inexpensive for our tours! Thank you Ride Scenic for a memorable experience!

I had an excellent experience with Ride Scenic in July 2024. The Ford Maverick truck was the right size (not too big, not too small, great gas mileage). Kodiak airport is a bit of a zoo when flights arrive, so it was very nice to not have to wait in line amongst the crowd at one of the small rental car counters. Simply walk out to the truck and go!

It's hard to find a better car rental agency!!! Stephen is great, the service is perfect. Zero stress or worry, Stephen takes care of everything! I am French and when I arrived in Kodiak our vehicle was parked in front of the port (impossible to get closer!!). The pick up was comfortable and super clean 😉 Stephen is super responsive and very kind.

This is my new favorite car rental company!! We rented one of the Ford Mavericks for a week of fishing on Kodiak and loved it! We had plenty of cab space for lunches, gear, and groceries when we needed it and just stowed our fishing gear and waders in the covered bed. The fuel efficiency was great, and it was a super comfortable ride for getting out along the road system. On top of that, the price was comparable to the cheapest rentals from the other companies…without all the extra fees. Definitely will look here first next time I’m headed to Kodiak.

What a fantastic family owned business. Super great rates. Trucks were awesome. Clean, well maintained and low mileage.

We were working and got a flat tire. By the time I was pulling out of the base to call them, my phone rang. He knew we had a flat and was working already to get it fixed.
Twenty minutes later, I was in a new truck and headed back to work. Almost all companies are 5 stars UNTIL there is a problem. This one gets 5 stars because of how well the problem was solved.
