AVOID if possible

A Word of Wisdom

I've been in the trucking business for many years, encountering a mix of good, bad, and mediocre services. One thing that baffles me is how many dealerships act like we, the customers, need them more than they need us. The reality is that we hold the power to decide where to spend our money. Here's my experience with Freightliner of Fort Pierce, Florida, which ultimately lost my business.

Last year, I stopped at this dealership to inquire about unlocking the speed limiter on my 2013 Freightliner MT55, something my mechanic couldn’t do. The woman at the service counter was rude and dismissive, claiming it would take all day for what should have been a 30-minute job. I left frustrated and decided to try again later.

Fast forward to December, I called and scheduled an appointment for early January. When I arrived, I was relieved the same woman wasn’t there, but my relief was short-lived. The gentleman I had spoken to on the phone quoted me nearly $400 for the service and explained it would take hours to call Benz for necessary codes. I reluctantly agreed.

While waiting, I visited the parts department. Despite several employees being present, no one acknowledged me for at least five minutes. When someone finally assisted me, it took another 15 minutes to get a quote for front shocks. The employee promised to call me with a complete estimate for all shocks—he never did.

By 4 p.m., I returned to find my truck hadn’t been touched. After some back-and-forth between the staff, it became clear they couldn’t complete the job because they lacked the proper program. They didn’t bother to notify me earlier, wasting my entire day. This lack of communication and professionalism was appalling.

Ultimately, I took my truck to St. Lucie Tires and Batteries without an appointment. They replaced my steer tires and did a wheel alignment within an hour. That’s how you earn business—with respect and efficiency.

If a business can’t value my time or money, they don’t deserve it. Freightliner of Treasure Coast failed on every level, and I won’t return.

We can't say enough good things about Freightliner of Treasure Coast. We were getting ready to leave our campground in our 44' Dutch Star motorhome when the check engine light came on. We called and spoke with Erica Harper. She was very upfront about the time it would take to diagnose and fix the issues.
Erica worked hard at getting us in and with the tech, got us back on the road in an extremely timely matter.
They were very accommodating and kept us informed during the process.
It can be frustrating when on the road trying to get your motorhome in an unknown shop and hoping for the best
We can't thank Erica, the tech and the shop for their fast service, attention to detail and customer service.
Thank you!!

Hey they have reduced their price really low. What I bought was 1/4 x 3" bolts I got 12 of them for $1.29. I know there are other things I need. But will stop on the way home. Great prices. Don't miss out.

After arriving here and being over, priced to have the truck diagnosed, the customer service was very poor they tried to charge me $19,950 to have injector cups replaced on my truck. They charged me $700 to diagnose the truck after I paid for the diagnosis they pretty much ignored me and made it clear that the vehicle had to be off their property in a certain amount of time I asked for assistance they were very nonchalant, and would not do anything to help me terrible place to take your vehicle to get serviced I’ll never come back very unprofessional, and the service manager really did not care either.

Made an appointment on Fri to bring truck in monday morning. Arrived at 9am. Vehicle wasn't looked at till 12:55pm. Absolutely terrible customer service! Here is pictures of the " customer lounge". If you use this place expect to be ignored. uhNot one person working in this place smiled the whole time we were there and only one employee greeted us with a hello. Also check out the date on the magazine's. And lastly: be specific as to what you are wanting done. We asked for a repair and a separate part and were charged to diagnose the part that we asked for. We were able to catch the guy in charge and they did drop that charge and were sold the part after being TOLD to get parts separate from the service dept.
