Agree with the anonymous poster from earlier - since they were bought out by Thompson Gas the service has been terrible. I have been trying to get a tank repaired since October. It is now January. They said they would call to schedule service. They did not. When I finally did get someone to call me back about a service appointment, it was scheduled two weeks out. They needed to also do a safety inspection of the tank. They said they would call me with the results of the safety inspection. They did not. Now I find out they couldn’t do the safety inspection because of the faulty valve that I have been trying to get fixed since October. I am fed up. Also agree with the previous poster that a lot of nice people work here, but communication between departments and with customers is inexcusably bad. Go with a different company.

Edit: I was on the schedule for a service appointment for today. Called yesterday afternoon to confirm. Also got a confirmation email yesterday. Today when I called to give a different contact number I was told that my appointment was canceled. No notification. Can’t reach anyone to find out why it was canceled. The woman I was dealing with is out of the office today. Left a message with the scheduling person she had been working with but she has not returned my call (it has been three hours since I left the message). A manager was supposed to call me to talk about my situation. He has not. This is precisely what has been happening to me every time I try to schedule an appointment. No surprise that a problem they identified three months ago still has not been fixed after repeated phone call and emails. Avoid this company at all costs!!

Easy place to get propane tanks and refills. Just pull up to station and yard attendant fills on the spot. Quick and good service.

UPDATE: We were contacted by Norm and he was extremely helpful and sent out a great tech who took care of everything that we didn’t know was wrong (as the first tech didn’t correct these things) and credited us the charge for the previous visit. He checked in with us after as well. We appreciate this follow up and follow thru by Norm.

We requested a pressure test which was supposed to be 150.00 due to the delivery of gas when we weren’t here to use any and had had a fill up only 3 months prior. I just got a charge on my credit card without any indication of what it consists of for 343.46!!! We have called the office, emailed and no response. We had this same company come out last year or when our home was finished and they supposedly did the testing and adjusted the flames etc. now they say we have a leak and have shut off the gas. Not impressed with this company. We will see if they call us back or we have to drive over there to get some answers.

WAS a long term HAPPY customer of South Florida Gas before they were acquired. Since Thompson Gas bought them, they have been HORRIBLE. You can't reach anyone (anymore) and service requests go unanswered. This isn't a 1-time issue, as I've been trying for 2 months to get a request completed. I get that companies in transition have some initial problems but the TOTAL lack of follow-up is inexcusable.

There are a lot of nice people at South Florida Gas and I feel bad saying that you should avoid this newly purchased company like the plague.

I'm a snowbird who has used South Florida Gas the past 2 seasons. I have been impressed with the friendly, professional service the staff provide. I had a family commitment yesterday and called the office to see when the delivery would occur, and Kim knew the trucks schedule and informed me that it would be stopping at Cypress Woods next and I no sooner got off the phone and there was the truck. Ali was very friendly, spoke well of Kim and the owner Chuck. As a retiree, I enjoyed getting to know these people and how things are going with their jobs. Ali was so engaging and cheerful and appreciative of his opportunities. To me this is what America is about, small businesses providing jobs and giving back to their communities. Keep up the great work, Chuck, Ali, and Kim in making SFG the place for all your propane needs.

After Ian, our 100# tanks were low. I asked some folks in my community where the best place was to get gas, and South Florida Gas was recommended.
