VIDA, formerly Washington, has created a racial divide in the school and the district. As being part of the last class that attend Washington I can say this, the last principal and vice-principal of Washington, and later the first principal and vice-principal of VIDA, have never taken Latino students into consideration. I would also consider myself to have been a prominent Latino student there and noticed that VIDA was creating a racial divide and only changed the school to attract more Anglo students.
